Capture the Flag!!

Join us as we participate in the Huntress Capture the Flag (CTF) event — a hands-on, team-oriented hacking challenge where we'll walk through real exploits, demonstrate attack techniques, and work together to earn points for the BSides Triad team! This is an active, laptop-driven session: attendees MUST bring their own laptops (fully charged and with any tools you prefer). Whether you’re sharpening red-team skills or learning new techniques in a guided environment, expect live demos, guided walkthroughs, and plenty of time to work together on challenges. This event is open to all skill levels.

Intro to Building and Developing with AI

Discover how AI can be more than just a chatbot. In this session, you’ll get a simple, hands-on introduction to building with large language models (LLMs) and creating AI “agents” that can investigate and explore information on their own. We’ll show real examples of how these tools work, including the use of MCP servers for more advanced capabilities — explained in plain language so anyone can follow along. No coding experience required.

Live Action: Business Email Compromise

At our next cybersecurity meetup, we’re diving into the full lifecycle of a Business Email Compromise—from both sides of the table. We’ll walk through how attackers set up and execute the scam, including infrastructure, phishing tactics, and social engineering. Then we’ll pivot to the defender’s perspective to break down the forensic artifacts, email headers, and indicators that an analyst would use to investigate and respond. It’s a hands-on, real-world look at one of the most common and costly attack vectors today—ideal for anyone looking to sharpen both offensive and defensive skills.
